Who Do We Worship?

What’s our purpose? When wavering between two opinions, two different lifestyles, how do you choose? Jonathan spoke about the duke-out session the prophets of Baal and Elijah had in 1 King 18:16-39. In the end, whomever is right, wins! Are you willing to risk it all to find out?

I hope you are…

Isaiah 45:5-6 I am the LORD, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged Me, So that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting men may know there is none besides me. I am the LORD, and there is no other.

Route 66

Route 66 was a series that we went through as a church on Wednesday nights – on each of the 66 Books of the Bible. Jonathan was asked to speak smack in the middle of Psalms- highlighting Psalm 90-106.

Towards the end of this sermon, Jonathan spoke on Psalm 103- the same Psalm that was taught by Pastor Mark the first time I walked into the door of the church and changed my life forever. It was the first time I heard that God wasn’t angry at me but actually cared for me. I didn’t know much about His character back then even though I had been in church growing up.  I hope you find such great strength from His unchanging Word.

New Life

August 25, 2012- Jonathan spoke on trials and how God grows us through them. Sometimes we have the tendency to run from God and not to God in the heat of trials. It was a pretty awesome weekend. One of my friends I’ve known for over 15 years turned to me this weekend and said, “I think I’m gonna stop running from God.” It was an answer to prayer. The LoRd knows the condition of our hearts and longs for us to know He cares. Be encouraged.

Lessons from a Runaway Man

July 6, 2013. This was probably one of my favorites from Jonathan’s teachings. I think we can all be “runaways” at times. I know I definitely have been and still in small ways, can try to run from God’s direction in disobedience.  I was surprised at the things God spoke that weekend, and got to see a runaway friend return to Him, it was pretty amazing. I encourage you to check it out. He is not far from each one of us.

Pass the Baton

November 13, 2013, Jonathan taught on leaving a good legacy. One of the greatest mentors I’ve ever  who had left an indelible imprint on my life, Jonathan’s mom, had passed away in early 2012. I think of her and want to emulate that kind of passion and faith for Jesus. Check out Jonathan’s fiery teaching below and get inspired to start kickin’ life in the pants.

Wake Up!

Jonathan was able to teach May 11, 2011, just a few short months after we learned of Arlene’s cancer. This might have been right after I stepped down from working at the ballroom. Either way, we were in a season that called us to be ready for whatever. Sometimes life makes you feel like you’re on a chopping block but regardless God is faithful. Hope you enjoy this one.
