I used to cringe at the thought of a Women’s Conference. Too much girl in one room. I mean, the girl talk, crying, and photo booth featuring oversized glasses and feather boas used to really freak me out.
I’m not sure if you’ve heard this song but it makes this pregnant body wanna #highkick!
In tenderness He sought me, weary and sick with sin
And on His shoulders brought me, back to His fold again
While angels in His presence sang, until the courts of heaven rang.
I am so encouraged when I hear this song and yes, I even shed a tear when I reflect His abundant grace.
He died for me while I was sinning, needy and poor and blind
He whispered to assure me: “I’ve found thee; thou art Mine”
I never heard a sweeter voice, it made my aching heart rejoice.
William Spencer Walton penned these words back in 1894. He was a missionary and evangelist in South Africa who had a heart for the spiritual needs of seamen. He also spent time writing pamphlets and distributed Bibles to English soldiers.
The Citizens from Mars Hill Church from Washington State rewrote this hymn in 2013 and did a phenomenal job kickin’ it up a notch.
Upon His grace I’ll daily ponder, and sing anew His praise
With all adoring wonder, His blessings I retrace
It seems as if eternal days, are far too short to sing His praise.
Take a listen and have your own dance party.
Be encouraged, He has called your name.
In His Grip,
I tread carefully as I write this post. I have spent the last three months laying low- away from social media, hanging out with friends etc in efforts to regain some strength and healing. Over the last two years, I have been dealing with quite a painful situation in ministry and it’s been recently that I felt the LoRd nudge me to take a break from pouring into others so that I can sit before Him and specifically deal with the aftershock of this circumstance.
Over the past few months, I’ve taken a huge step back from life, social media, etc and have just been focusing my efforts and energies into other things. Being mentored by older women in ministry has been a highlight. Studying His Word, refreshing. I ran across a journal entry from this summer that contained a listing of the different names of God throughout the Scripture. I”m sure this isn’t extensive but here’s just a few to ponder:
I visited a different church this weekend.. and wow, I loved it! It was exactly what I needed to hear..
Wow! What a great book I just finished reading! I think everyone needs to get their hands on this one.
